Todd Andreozzi (guitar, backing vocals) is the co-founder if iE, along with David Upegui. He has played throughout the region ever since he was unleashed on the scene in the mid 80's with the popular Rush tribute band, Anthem. He’s advanced his studies in jazz theory and application with the guidance of long time teacher, Wayne Jarrell at The Guitar Workshop in East Greenwich, RI, and cites Eddie Van Halen as his primary influence. "Eddie changed everything about guitar playing. Although Eddie is famed for his solos, I gravitate more to his intense rhythm work." He also cites Mike Stern, Pat Metheny, Paco DeLucia, and Vicente Amigo as well as other influences. Todd's attention was drawn to the magic of a nylon string guitar by chance; one day at a local guitar store, he played a Cordoba 75F and completely fell in love with the sound, tone, texture and pure clarity of the guitar, he bought that guitar on the spot! It was an inspiration for him to delve into all of the possibilities that a nylon string guitar offered. It can be both delicate and agressive in the same passage, unlike a steel string instrument, it feels more connected to the player and becomes an extension of the player. Todd has got to have about the most intense picking style on the planet; working his solos in iE songs until they about to burst into flames, yet never breaking the delicate nylon strings on his guitar. "When I write and play, I am trying to bring about an emotion from the listener, it doesn't have to be the same emotion that I am feeling; I try to paint a picture in the listeners' minds: bring them back to an earlier memory or transport them somewhere they've never been."
